ST. JOHN VIANNEY – Patron Saint of Priests

Bishop McKnight and 25 priests of the Jefferson City Diocese just returned from two weeks in France.  They went on pilgrimage to Ars where St John Vianney was the pastor of that small town parish.  He is the patron saint of priests due to his famous priestly service to that community.  A shrine was built there in honor of him, and the parish church he served in is still there.  Our local group of priests went for a retreat there and to visit other shrines of significance in the area.  May this pilgrimage renew our priests in their service to God and the church!
